Kitchen respray prices explained
Kitchen respray costs in Surrey and South West London mostly fall between £1,750 and £5,000. The biggest factor is simply the number of doors, drawers and panels being sprayed — which is why we price by kitchen size rather than a vague day rate. A compact galley kitchen with 8–14 doors sits at the lower end, while a large open-plan kitchen with an island, larder units and end panels sits at the top. Compare that with £10,000–£25,000 for an equivalent replacement kitchen and it’s easy to see why respraying has become the go-to option: you keep perfectly good carcasses out of landfill, avoid a week of rip-out disruption, and get a hard-wearing, factory-style sprayed finish in your chosen colour in around five days. Every price we quote is fixed once we’ve seen your photos — the price you’re given is the price you pay.

Martin, Joe and Paddi, what an amazing team! I had them spray and roll two rooms and two built in wardrobes. The finish is unbelievable. I would recommend.Posted on Google Piotr PiatekTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The best decision we ever made was choosing Ultimate Decor for our project. Martin and his team were exceptional from start to finish. They were always cheerful, respectful, highly professional, and their attention to detail was second to none. The quality of their workmanship and the final result exceeded all of our expectations. From the very beginning, Martin reassured us that the project would run smoothly, stay on schedule, and be carried out with respect for both us and our neighbours. He delivered on every promise there were no hiccups or issues throughout the entire process. The transformation of our home is simply incredible it looks like something straight off the cover of a magazine! Since the project was completed, we’ve received endless compliments from family, friends, and neighbours. Most importantly, my husband and I finally feel like we’re coming home, rather than just returning to a house. If you’re thinking about choosing Martin and the Ultimate Decor team for your project, don’t hesitate just do it. I can guarantee you won’t regret it.Posted on Google Clare van DrutenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. From my first interaction with Martin, I knew we had chosen the right business to do our kitchen re-spray. Martin came and discussed the quote and did a detailed study of our kitchen, identifying areas where special care would be needed. He showed us a sample of the finish that would be achieved- honestly we were a bit skeptical as the sample looked amazing. We needn’t have worried the final product was just that - amazing! A special shout out to Joe who carried out the actual work. The care & attention he showed was first class, as was the quality of his work. He communicated with us throughout the project and was very hard working. We had no issue leaving him in the house. We would 100% recommend Martin & his team.Posted on Google Allison PlautTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great comms, good people, very pleased with the result.Posted on Google Francesca DownieTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We recently used Martin and the team at Ultimate Decor to spray our kitchen island after seeing some good reviews online. Absolutely couldn’t fault them - they did a fantastic job! Martin provided a quote and came round for an initial consultation promptly, and carefully assessed the colour to match our existing cupboards. We were lucky enough to have the work done only a month later, and they did an amazing job at matching the colour, and the finish of the spray paint is impeccable! Paddy & Shane did a great job at the in-house work, and left our kitchen absolutely spotless. Would absolutely use them again and would thoroughly recommend!Posted on Google Paul WaltonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I couldn’t recommend Martin and his amazing team highly enough. From the very beginning, everything was explained in clear detail, which made the whole process feel straightforward and stress free. The pricing was also clearly broken down and reasonable, with no surprises. On the day of the work, the team were very polite, friendly and helpful. They took great care throughout and were very respectful of the space. The respraying work was outstanding and matched seamlessly with the existing areas. A fantastic job all round.
What Affects the Cost of a Kitchen Respray
Condition of the existing units. Sound, clean doors need less preparation. Heavy grease, peeling laminate, water damage around the sink or previously painted surfaces all add prep time — and prep is where quality finishes are won or lost.
Surface type. Solid wood and MDF take paint readily. High-gloss, thermofoil and laminate need extra bonding preparation to guarantee adhesion.
Kitchen layout. Islands, glazed cabinets, open shelving, tall larder units and awkward corner runs all take longer than a straightforward galley.
Extra items. Plinths, cornices, end panels, bulkheads and pantry interiors are often overlooked when comparing quotes — we include them in ours so there are no surprises.
Finish and colour. Most colours cost the same, but a dramatic change (dark to very pale, for example) may need additional coats for full, even coverage.

How much does it cost to respray a kitchen in the UK?
Pricing follows the size of the job. Compact galley kitchens with 8–14 doors start at £1,750; a standard family kitchen sits around £2,200; and open-plan layouts with an island and larder units begin at £3,200, rising past £5,000 for the largest jobs. Doors, drawers and panel count set the figure — nothing else.
How long does a kitchen respray take?
Budget five days on site. Three of those go on preparation — removing, labelling, degreasing and priming — and two on spraying and refitting. Your kitchen stays usable for most of the week; only the spraying days need the room clear.
Is respraying a kitchen cheaper than replacing it?
Considerably. Where a replacement kitchen runs £10,000–£25,000, a respray lands at roughly a fifth to a third of that. The carcasses stay put, so you’re paying for finish rather than fitting — and you avoid a week of rip-out.
