Hi everyone, I am Martin, the business owner at Ultimate Décor. If you ever reached out and contacted us, it would have more likely have been me that you spoke to.

I started Ultimate Décor here in Kingston Upon Thames in 2004. I have never been happier. I get to do what I love… make people happy. And a happy client means we are doing things right.

My Background

I was brought up in Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey until I left home at 16 years of age to join the Royal Marines.

After 7 fun-packed years, I decided to follow my passion to be a Bodyguard and started a Close Protection company in London. For the next 9 years I looked after royalty, dignitaries, pop stars, politicians, actors and more.

During this time I sustained a life altering injury, nearly losing my right leg. It took 3 years of medical support to get back to my adventurous self, completing Ultra distance races, marathons, kick-boxing, football and rugby. The injury was a defining moment and led to a change of career that has brought me a lot of joy in a very different way.

Kitchen Painting before & after

This recent kitchen Door Spraying project was completed in just 5 days for a customer in Wimbledon.

This kitchen’s fresh look was achieved by fully preparing the wooden kitchen first. Dustless sanding and MaxVac dust arrest, assure a very clean job. Full cleaning and degreasing comes first, then the application of a tinted adhesion primer. After that, a specialist low VOC topcoats for painting cabinets and doors is applied. These colours were matched to Farrow & Ball Lamp Room Gray #88.

The total time taken for the job was 5 days. That included two days on-site, two days at the unit, and a day for fitting.

This is a fairly typical kitchen respray for Ultimate Décor. Time is usually split between on-site work and spraying of the doors and removable items in our unit. This method means we can get that perfect finish with a minimum of disruption for the client.

Can I change the door handles?

Absolutely! Door handles or knobs can be changed prior to painting kitchen cabinets. This gives you that new kitchen look. Think about it… only two things make up the kitchen door; the colour and the opener. Change those and the kitchen is brand new. If the door hinge has dropped or is broken, we’ll take care of it.

Is it a long process?

We are high-quality kitchen cabinet painters. We can complete most professional kitchen resprays within 5 days, depending on how many doors and the overall size of your kitchen.

Disruption is kept to the absolute minimum. You will even be able to access your cupboards throughout, as we will be removing the cabinet doors. We do not require them to be emptied. That’s one less thing to worry about.
